Here is a solid statement to consider when making a decision. “The choices we make today determine the stories we tell tomorrow.” Thinking about Mt. 5:13-16, what stories does Jesus want us to tell? According to those verses, how can we make choices today that help us tell God’s story tomorrow (stories where God is the hero and not us)?
Often we try to make life about us when its about God.
So which story would you rather tell? The one where you make a selfish decision, trying to make yourself out to be the hero, but you look like a bonehead? Or the one where you serve others, show them God’s love, and make Him the hero?
It all depends on the decisions you make today and the motivations behind why you make them.
